I’m middle school writing tutor, Kathie Harsch, certified in English Language Arts. I teach my classes online, so they are convenient and accessible for your child. I help children grades 6-9 or ages 10-14 years of age with all aspects of writing.

About Me
My passion for writing and teaching have culminated in over 28 years of teaching experience and knowledge, but I have a greater passion for helping children unlock their writing potential. However, how your child feels when they are across from me online is so much more important than my experience.
Your child deserves to feel comfortable, cared about, and listened to when they have concerns about writing. Their ideas matter, and choice plays a huge part in this. Therefore, I consistently ask my students what they want to learn about and what strategies I’ve shown them help them the most. Then, we practice what works.
Additionally, I do not believe in high pressure sales or trying to talk you into packages or anything like that. That is against my whole life philosophy. Instead, I want to help you help your child in ways that work for your family and schedule. It’s a free and simple 20-minute conversation to discuss your child and how I can help.
Tutoring Packages
Each 50-minute session is personalized to your child’s writing goals. We discuss current challenges, work on essays or projects, apply individualized prewriting and brainstorming strategies, strengthen writing, editing, and revision skills, and build reading comprehension through written responses. Every session focuses on meaningful practice that supports real academic growth.
The class price includes all materials I use as well as my expertise and time. $50/50 minutes prepaid monthly in the tiers below:
